As we move into February, let’s not take those January blues with us! The feeling of being stuck in a rut, going back to work, and the excitement of the festivities being over can give us all a feeling of dread. In today’s blog, we will be sharing our top tips with you to help you beat those January blues once and for all!
Tip one – get active
Getting active is a great place to start, it not only relieves stress, but it also releases chemicals that can uplift your mood. Make sure it's something you enjoy doing; it doesn't have to be too strenuous. You could go for a short stroll, attend a yoga session, or a dance class.
Tip two – socialise
Despite the gloomy weather persuading you to stay inside all day, try to meet up with friends or family a few times a week. A simple 30-minute chat over a coffee can do wonders in uplifting your mood! Surround yourself with others who make you happy and laugh and make the most of any free time that you share together. You could even pair your socialising with some exercise.
Tip three – try something new
New Year is often associated with new beginnings and the stereotypical ‘new you’. Why not try taking up a new hobby? You might surprise yourself and find something that you really enjoy doing and meet people who hold the same interest at the same time.
Tip four – plan and organise
Taking some time to re-organise yourself can often give you that ‘weight lifted of your shoulders’ feeling. Whether that’s organising your kitchen cupboard, wardrobes, or finances – take the time to plan and organise all those tasks you’ve been avoiding; you’ll feel better for it.
Tip five – try Kira
